The Old State Capitol is excited to welcome back the Associated
Women in the Arts for a music-themed art show this summer, June 4th through
August 31st. The organization was founded in 1980 and is comprised of
professional women artists in Southern Louisiana who specialize in a variety of
visual art forms. Please join us for the show’s opening reception on June
27th from 5-7 p.m.

The Louisiana State Archives and Louisiana’s Old State Capitol were featured on C-SPAN’s American History TV during a series shot in Baton Rouge in conjunction with the LCV Cities Tour. C-SPAN producers visited various literary and historic sites interviewing local historians, authors and civic leaders to compile the series which also aired on Book TV.
